Saving You Money
The 20th of March, was officially the first day of Spring and the weather seems to have got the memo this week, here in Cornwall. In the Spring, many of us will be starting to get into better routines with exercise and eating, getting those much-needed spring cleans underway and making perfect plans for our outdoor spaces. This time of year is also the perfect time to get your dog involved in some of these springtime spruce ups and make sure they are prepared for the change in the season ahead.
In this article, we will be sharing some practical tips to prepare your furry friends for super springtime and some warm weather fun.
This time of year is a great time to take a look at your dog's coat, skin and grooming routine. Preparing your dogs properly for the warmer months will make them more comfortable once the temperature starts to rise, it will also help to reduce tangled and broken hair that may have accumulated over the winter months and the muddier walks! The easiest way to do this is to book an appointment with your local, certified, dog groomer. They will be able to get your dog prepped for the year ahead and make them feel, and look, like a million bucks!
Alternatively, you could bring the groomers home and start a routine of your very own, why not try using some of our fabulous all-natural Wildwash grooming products to treat your dog to a luxury bathtime. The most important thing to remember when doing grooming at home is to clean the ears of your dogs, as they are particularly susceptible to infections, this can be done with cleansing pads or some cotton wool as the area can be extra sensitive.
As we all go through our homes during the Spring giving everything a good scrub and cleanse, we think it's a great time to make sure all of your dogs’ accoutrements are left sparkling too. Their bedding can be washed and aired out, outside, for some summer freshness, alongside all of their favourite blankets and soft toys. All of the hard surfaces that they use can also be cleaned with warm water and gentle soap, so their bowls, placemats and chew toys can be superbly spotless too.
Spring cleaning can also mean a time to declutter all of the extraneous things that we have in our lives too. Here at Natural Cornish Pet, we don’t believe in throwing things out when they still can be used, and this is a great time to donate to your local animal sanctuary or charity. If you and your dogs have any spare bedding, carriers, dog coats, leads, toys, collars, towels, old baby gates, or anything you might think is useful for animal charities, we think a Spring clean is a perfect time to get philanthropic, prevent more waste going into bins and help out some less fortunate animals.

Spring is also the time when all the animals are starting to think about reproduction and this is especially true of some of the more nasty bugs that feed on our fabulous furry friends. With this in mind, it is essential for us all to think about treatment and prevention against ticks and fleas at this time of year. At Natural Cornish Pet our resplendent range of Tropiclean products are the perfect way to keep your dog protected from these nasty critters, as well as offering a way of relieving the irritation when they have been bitten.
When you have a dog as part of your family it is of paramount importance that you plan what you plant in your garden. Many common garden plants can be toxic to dogs and can cause a myriad of problems and therefore is essential to arrange your horticultural dreams accordingly.
