What is a Natural Pet Product? - Natural Chews and Treats Selection - The Pets Larder A Natural Pet Shop

What is a Natural Pet Product?

When The Pets Larder was started, back in 2018, our mission was to ‘deliver and simplify feeding for conscientious dog owners across Cornwall’.

But what does ‘natural’ mean in the context of pet supplies and how do we, at The Pets Larder make sure what we provide is the best option for you and your dogs every time you make a purchase from us?

Dog Outside Enjoying Nature

In this post, we will be finding out exactly what it means to be labelled a ‘natural pet product’ and how we ensure we are providing you with the very best all-natural pet supplies we possibly can.

What does Natural Mean?

The dictionary definition of the word natural is “existing in or derived from nature; not made or caused by humankind”.

Now, as you may have noticed there is a district lack of dental chew bushes or dog biscuit trees, however, we try to find and produce pet products that are as close to their natural constituent ingredients as possible.

Many mainstream pet food, treat and chew producers, use a whole host of additional man-made colourings, flavourings and preservatives in their foods and with limited regulations are free to do so. At The Pets Larder we never stock anything that has these nasty additives in their make-up as we value the health and well-being of your dogs over profitability and economic growth every single time.

We believe, as do many other experts in the pet nutrition field, that our precious pets deserve to eat the very best foods and treats that they possibly can and ones that are as close to their naturally occurring diets as possible. This gives them the best possible chance to live their lives in the best condition they can, whilst enjoying all the taste sensations that naturally occurring ingredients can bring.

What is a Natural Pet Product?

As we alluded to above, in our eyes a natural pet product is one that uses ingredients and processes of manufacture that leave your pet's food and treats as close to the naturally occurring constituents as possible. Whether this is using cold pressing to make foods, to ensure nutrition isn't cooked out, or simply using whole animal parts from the meat industry, such as rabbits ears or pig snouts, as delectable chews, we try to give your dogs and cats the best they can get with every morsel we provide.

How do you Make Sure Your Products are as Natural as Possible?

We often get asked this question and the answer really is very simple, we really care. The Pets Larder was set up with the sole mission of providing the dogs of Cornwall and the UK with more easily accessible and affordable natural ways of feeding, based on our experiences in the dog-care industry. As such, we do a tonne of research into every product we are considering stocking before they get anywhere near our shelves.

We love to help make dogs and cats happy, and healthy and living lives that are full of flavour above anything else, and our business is set up to ensure that is the case before any boring worries like ‘turnover’ and ‘profit’ come into play. When we decided to dedicate our lives to the care of the pets of Cornwall, and beyond, it was because of our love of animals. Making sure the pets of Britain are getting the best natural foods, treats and chews they can is our lives work and we won’t stop at anything to achieve our goals.
