Evie Urinary Care

The Pets Larder started because of a cat. Katy's cat Louis developed cystitis on a supermarket diet, and recovered on grain-free, high-meat food. That experience is where the shop began, and it's why the specialist end of the Evie range exists — for cats whose everyday health needs more than an everyday recipe can offer.

Evie Urinary Care is formulated around three ideas.

Hydrolysed protein for digestibility and reduced antigenic load. The primary protein is hydrolysed chicken (40% freshly prepared), broken down into small peptides using a natural enzymatic process derived from papaya. Smaller peptides are absorbed more efficiently and are less likely to trigger the immune reactions that can contribute to systemic inflammation, including in the urinary tract. A second hydrolysed protein — 15% dried salmon — reinforces the same principle. This approach achieved 92% protein digestibility in feeding studies, above the FEDIAF standard of 80%.

UriTract™ blend for urinary-specific support. A five-ingredient functional blend:

• Cranberry — contains proanthocyanidins that help prevent bacteria from adhering to the bladder lining
• Camomile — promotes calm behaviour and helps reduce stress, a known trigger for urinary flare-ups
• Rosehips — a source of vitamin C, an antioxidant that supports the body's normal anti-inflammatory response
• L-carnitine — supports healthy body weight through fat metabolism; excess weight is a recognised risk factor for urinary issues
• L-tryptophan — supports serotonin production to help regulate stress

Optimal urine pH. In a 2025 feeding study conducted at Kennel 'De Morgenstond' in Dussen, Netherlands, 90% of cats fed this diet achieved optimal urine pH — the range (6.0–6.6) that helps minimise the risk of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Grain-free. Formulated by pet nutritionists and approved by licensed veterinarians. As with any specialist diet, we'd recommend discussing suitability with your vet if your cat has a diagnosed urinary condition.

Kibble is a small heart shape, 5mm × 10mm. Made in the UK. Shelf life up to 18 months.
