Sole is a lean flatfish — naturally low in fat at 3%, high in protein at 76%, and a source of the essential vitamins and minerals that come with drying fish whole rather than processing it into a formed treat. The moisture is removed slowly in drying units, which preserves nutritional density rather than depleting it. No additives, no preservatives — the drying process is the shelf life.
Sole is less common in pet food than salmon or white fish, which makes it a useful rotation option and a practical choice for dogs where variety in the treat rotation matters. The whole-fish format gives dogs something to work at.
The species varies by season — Dover sole, Lemon sole, English sole, and Dab are all members of the sole and flatfish family caught in UK and North Sea waters. What is in your bag depends on what is running when your order is packed. All four are lean, single-ingredient, 100% fish. Seasonality is how wild-caught fish works, and we would rather be honest about that than print a single species on the bag and rotate quietly without telling you.
