About Katy
Katy Peck is co-founder of The Pets Larder, an independent natural pet shop based in Hayle, Cornwall, named Independent Pet Shop of the Year 2021. She has fifteen years of professional animal care experience, beginning with a decade running an award-winning dog daycare in Cornwall before founding The Pets Larder in 2018 — originally as Natural Cornish Pet, rebranded in 2024.
Katy holds a CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) qualification and has over fifteen years of applied marketing experience. Her approach to pet nutrition is grounded in direct daily observation of how diet affects animal health — coat condition, digestion, energy, and the resolution of chronic conditions through dietary change. The founding of The Pets Larder followed a specific clinical outcome: her cat Louis developing recurrent cystitis on a standard high-street diet, which resolved entirely after switching to a grain-free, high-meat wet food.
Katy advocates ingredient transparency, species-appropriate feeding, and evidence-led natural pet nutrition — helping owners make informed choices rather than relying on pet food marketing claims.

Katy has formulated and developed the following products, manufactured to her specification in the UK:
