Hair on rabbit ears has a long-standing reputation as a natural aid for internal parasite management — the indigestible fibre acts as a mechanical brush through the gut, helping to move worm larvae before they establish. It's not a veterinary dewormer and shouldn't be used in place of one where there's a confirmed worm burden. But as part of a natural parasite management routine, particularly for dogs with regular woodland or field exposure, it's a reasonable and low-risk addition.
Beyond the fur, rabbit is a lean, low-fat protein — genuinely lower in fat than beef, lamb or chicken ears. That makes these a practical option for dogs who need a satisfying chew without the caloric load, and for dogs with sensitive digestion who struggle with richer treats.
Rabbit is also a less common protein in UK pet food, which means dogs who've been on standard meat sources for years are less likely to have developed a sensitivity to it. Single ingredient, nothing added, no grain or gluten.
