We stock JR because they hold that line. Every product in this collection is made from a named protein source. There are no anonymous meat derivatives, no artificial preservatives, no flavour enhancers to disguise a weaker raw material. What the label says is what's in the bag. That matters more than it should have to. UK pet food labelling law allows brands to list 'meat and animal derivatives' without specifying species, percentage, or quality.

It's a legal category designed for flexibility — and used extensively by brands that would rather you didn't look too closely.

JR doesn't use it. You'll find beef, ostrich, lamb, chicken — named, traceable, sourced from European suppliers they've chosen specifically.

Why this matters for dogs with sensitivities

Single-ingredient treats are the simplest tool available for dogs who react badly to food. If a dog is sensitive to chicken and everything in their treat bag is labelled 'poultry and derivatives', you're solving nothing. A JR beef treat is beef. A JR ostrich bone is ostrich. When you know exactly what went in, you know exactly what to rule out. This is why JR treats are a consistent recommendation from vets, nutritionists, and anyone who has spent serious time managing canine allergies or intolerances. The ingredient list is the evidence.

What we recommend

For training: the Pure range — Beef Coins, Chicken Coins, Beef Sticks. Small, soft, single ingredient, no mess in your pocket.

For chewing: the Ostrich range. Ostrich is a lean, novel protein — genuinely useful for dogs who've exhausted the more common meat sources. The Ostrich Bone and Ostrich Knuckle are long-lasting without the risks associated with rawhide or cooked bone.

For sensitive stomachs specifically: Lamb Tripe, Goat Ears, Rabbit Ears without hair. Lower-fat options, easy to digest, from protein sources most dogs haven't been overexposed to.
